Well that was an interesting grand prix, with a surprise winner.
There was a delay in the meeting when there was a problem with the tapes not going up at a consistent speed on both sides.
Nigel Pearson and Kelvin Tatum were at the helm on the commentary and the Woffy Woffy Woffy came when the only British rider in the grand prix won a late heat.
Although last years World Champion Chris Holder missed out on reaching the semi finals. Pole Krzysztof Kasprzak failing to score any points in any of his five rides.
There was excitement in the British Isles when Tai Woffinden made it to the final heat. Also Belle Vue Aces number one Matej Zagar did with Emil Safyutdinov and the crowds favourite Tomasz Gollob.
Unfortunately Tai did not make it on the podium, but a win should be soon enough with the pace on his bike.
The surprise came with the Russain Emil winning, who has not won a grand prix since 2009. Matej Zagar came second and Gollob third.
The next grand prix shall be in Gothenburg for the Swedish grand prix.
Tonight’s meeting at Belle Vue has been called off.
There is sunshine!! That means a speedway meeting, whilst you all recover from the shocking news that a meeting will go ahead. Belle Vue Aces are going against the Poole Pirates. All hoping the aces do well this evening.
After a call off on Monday Belle Vue were at Winbourne Road at the Poole pirate speedway club.
Unfortunately on Tuesday one of the double up riders Claus Vissing took another knock by getting a collar bone injury in the premier league meeting of Ipswich v Somerset, where there was an incident between Dakota North and Claus. So Craig Cook was the replacement for Vissing.
Poole did not get it their own way all the time. The aces put up a fight in that the pirates were not cruising in all 15 heats. Although heat 15 was the decider with the return of turbo twins Chris Holder and back from injury Darcy Ward.
There was another incident which involved Sam Masters who has consequently injured his wrist.
But the scores on the doors was not enough for the aces to get a point with the score being 49-41.
Weather permitting Poole will face Belle Vue again at Kirkumshulme Lane.
Last night at Belle Vue there was another rain off, disappointing I know but things like this happen we all know, but it seems to be a lot at the moment. So having withdrawal symptoms from being spoilt from the speedway world cup there was some premier league action with Ipswich witches v Somerset rebels.
So sky did their bit with the premier league. The weather was dry and with some good racing going on, everything was fine, until the rain came….
It seemed to rain from no where, although the riders agreed to carry on. Jason Doyle from Somerset was on fire, he got a paid maximum and was one of the cleanest there. Due to the rain it caused a lot of dirt into mud in a way and if you were not in front you would get very dirty indeed.
Although there was an incident between Dakota North and Claus Vissing where it turned out Claus had a suspected collarbone injury, so he did not ride for the rest of the meeting. So that is a blow.
The Aussies were there in full force, the young one like Cameron Heeps and Rohan Tungate did extremely well in the muddy and slippery conditions. But to all the lads on both teams going out there and having a good go of it and a win for Ipswich as well, seemed a good home win!!
Belle Vue Aces just missed out on an away point at Wolverhampton with the final score being 51-42 to the Wolves.
The live meeting for sky was interesting with Lakeside having some real bad luck which the made the final score 36-50 to the robins.
Another week has begun and that means a new week in the speedway fixture list. This evening Belle Vue Aces are in Wolverhampton against the Wolves. Last week the aces got their first win and hopefully another win against the same team could boost the confidence and moral in the team.
On sky there will be Lakeside v Swindon. Let’s hope that the weather stays nice and a good meeting can go under way.
In Poland yesterday Darcy Ward suffered an injury with his hand due to an incident. It is seen that he will not be in the meeting on Wednesday for Poole. Is this a downer for the pirates fans when one of their best riders is out injured, but these things happen and just the best for him and a speedy recovery.
As I mentioned previously the meeting against Swindon had been called off, there are elite league meetings:
Peterborough Panthers v Belle Vue Aces
Birmingham Brummies v Lakeside Hammers
Unfortunately the meeting at Birmingham has been called off
Belle Vue have lost their away meeting against Peterborough Panthers by one point the final score is Peterborough Panthers 47-46 Belle Vue Aces.
Also a big thank you to Gavin Elliott for keeping me updated throughout the meeting
Belle Vue Aces have had a change of luck against Wolverhampton Wolves this evening with a win!!!!
You all read that correct Belle Vue had their first win in their tenth meeting of the season. All teams have some points on the board now.
Belle Vue had new signings of Craig Cook who made a return for the aces this season and new signings of Ales Dryml and Renat Gafurov have all made an impact on the team. Unfortunately Patrick Hougaard was out with an injury with a broken collarbone. But hope he makes a speedy recovery.
The aces did not pull one trump card, all riders scored points and all were fighting to win every single point on offer.
The final score was Belle Vue Aces 54-40 Wolverhampton Wolves.
It has been announced that Edinburgh Monarchs rider Craig Cook will join Belle Vue Aces.
However the tall Dane Patrick Hougaard looks like he will be out with a collar bone injury.
So with the Brit Craig Cook joining the ranks, the next meeting will be on Monday against Wolverhampton Wolves, weather permitting.
As most people know Belle Vue are at the bottom of the table with no points and eight meetings. Although they have had their problems in the early season.
However the aces had their ninth meeting away at Birmingham Brummies. There were many changes with their team, with Chris Harris as number guest in replacement for the injured Rory Schlein. There was also appearance from Salford man Ricky Ashworth and Dudley Heathons man Adam Roynon.
But there is some bad news, the aces were so close at gaining their first point. But with a score of Birmingham 50-43 Belle Vue.
Tonight Peterborough were the hosts to the buckineering pirates. The final score of this meeting was Peterborough 39-51 Poole.
There is the guest rider of Chris harris at number one.
In number two there is rider replacement for Artur Mroczka
3. Ales Dryml
4. Ricky Ashworth
5. Patrick Hougaard
6. Ricky Ashworth
7. Adam Eoynon
Tonight we have Birmingham Brummies v Belle Vue Aces
also; Peterborough Panthers v Poole Pirates
